Secondary School Newsletter: April – June 2026 📘
The British School of Kampala warmly welcomes all students and families to the final term of the academic year. As we look ahead, we encourage every learner to stay focused, motivated, and finish the year strong.
A busy and exciting term ahead
This term is a key period for our secondary students, particularly those preparing for examinations:
- Years 7–10 and Year 12 will sit their end-of-year exams in early June
- Year 11 students will be completing their IGCSE examinations
- Year 13 students will be sitting their A-Level exams
We wish all our exam candidates the very best and look forward to celebrating another set of excellent results.
School life and updates
- After-school programme: School will close at 2:30 p.m. in the first week, with extracurricular clubs beginning on Wednesday, 29th April
- Staff update: We are pleased to welcome Ms Mercy Kobusingye, our new teacher of English Language and Literature
- Parent engagement: We value your feedback — suggestions can be shared via email or arranged through meetings with the school
Celebrating recent events
Last term was filled with energy, creativity, and achievement:
- A thrilling Sports Day, where Sipi House claimed victory
- Strong participation in international events such as Model United Nations
- Creative showcases including Book Day, the Fashion Show, and the Art Exhibition
- Academic successes in competitions such as Maths Mania and World Scholars
We look forward to building on this momentum with the Talent Show in the final week of term.

- 22nd – 25th May: Half Term Break

- 19th June: IGCSE Completion Ceremony (Year 11)
- 20th June: Graduation Ceremony (Year 13)
- 25th June: Academic Awards Ceremony
- 26th June: Talent Show & Last Day of Term
