Our Story

A growing need for an affordable international school inspired the birth of The British School of Kampala. On the 3rd of September 2012, Roberta Newman, Mark Dixon and myself, opened the doors of The British School of Kampala with 27 children and 8 members of staff, away from the city bustle on Muyenga hill, near the lake breeze.

Being more research based, with emphasis on skills development, we chose the Edexcel Pearson curriculum, especially because they also offer BTEC.

Presently, the secondary school is on the original plot, and the expansion of British School of Kampala, has seen the primary section on a new location about 2 minutes away, giving each section the deserved attention. In September 2017, we were joined by a new Director, Mr. Renatus Van de Velde and currently we are approximately 70 members of staff with an amazing student body.
